I’m going to be honest here, I bought the wrong yarn. I was looking for a certain yarn for a line of flower beanies for my fall line and somehow confused this Denim in Color for the one I was looking for when I went to Hobby Lobby.
Am I going to return it? That’s a silly question. Of course I’m not. I will make things with it! They just won’t be part of my fall line. But I didn’t suspect it was the wrong yarn until I was 2 flower beanies in so….here they are! This is a 50% Acrylic, 50% Cotton yarn and the texture is interesting. Definitely soft but has that cotton feel as well.
I worked up one beanie with a standard hdc stitch (the pink one on the right) and the other with a Grit Stitch and I like that one better for sure. Both are pretty, but I really want to use a stitch that gives more of a popcorn feel for fall with bolder colors than these. Popcorn knits (why do they always leave out crochet) are supposedly very IN this year.
I’m thinking of doing a scarf or a shawl with the rest of the colors…striping….but I was glad I got to work these girls up and get a feel for this yarn, even if it wasn’t the one I had been looking for. I did order the one I want today in all the colors…*sigh* more waiting!
This angle showcases the stitches better.
As you can tell, I got a new light box for taking photographs of my items! And as you would suspect, I am completely in love with it. The one I bought you can find on Amazon HERE. It is middle-of-the-road as far as expense goes, but these photos …. I am so next-level now! Loving it and I can’t WAIT to update all of my photos on Etsy! I highly recommend getting one of these boxes….not only are the photos 1,000 times better, this showcases the yarns and my stitches SO much better!!!!
So there you have it! Denim in Color is great yarn and … go buy a light box! I need a bigger house so I have a yarn studio….that’s a thing, right? It will be now!
Happy Hooking, Hookers!
