Messenger Cap Pattern Review

It’s been a while since I did a pattern review! But I am having so much fun making up these hats for Spring and Summer that I had to share it here with you! Pride and Joy launched this pattern over the weekend and I got my copy right away and started making hats!

You can purchase your own download of this hat HERE.

This pattern is not for beginners, there are some techniques that only more experienced crochet artists will be familiar with, but if you have the experience, these work up fairly quickly and they’re so fun to customize! I especially love the scalloped brim since caps like this are so difficult for we hookers to make a firm brim without using a plastic insert, which I am not fond of myself. This brim is much more forgiving!

I have a fairly large cotton yarn collection, so I’m having a blast making different versions for my site and I can’t wait to see these on my customers!

My local Joann Fabric carries Sugar ‘N Cream cotton yarn, but the colors are not what I like to use much beyond washcloths as they’re a bit raw. I like to order Lion Brand cotton yarns online or buy I Love This Cotton from Hobby Lobby locally. The below hat I made with some Cascade Yarns cotton I picked up on the Rose City Yarn Crawl recently. It was VERY easy to work with!

Whatever cotton you decide to use, this pattern seems to work up famously! Messenger Caps are stylish and cotton breathes so nicely that I anticipate these being very popular this season!!! And for winter…I plan on using some warmer yarns to make winter versions as well!!!

Love this pattern and whatever yarn you choose, it will work up well! Go get yours today and …

Happy Hooking, Hookers!
