Starry Night Coffee Sweaters – Free Pattern

So when Hobby Lobby opened back up, I couldn’t help myself because I was running low on cotton yarn and going to Spring and Summer….that isn’t good! Down the rabbit hole I went!

I saw this yarn and couldn’t help but think of Starry Night by Van Gogh. So I put it in my basket and headed for the jewelry making aisle for some charms. I found some great star and moon charms and went home to create!

Supplies:

I used a slight variation of my Coffee Sweater pattern as follows:

1 Skein I Love This Yarn in ‘Nova Scotia’

1 Crochet Hook Size I

1 Sewing Needle

Charm/Connector/Pendant to sew onto sweater

Pattern:

Ch 27, connect with sl st to form ring

Row 1: ch 1, hdc in same stitch as joined stitch, in back/bottom lump of each stitch, hdc around, sl st to beginning hdc

Row 2: ch 1, hdfp around 1st hdc from previous round, *hdbp, hdfp* repeat from * around, sl st to beginning hdfp

Row 3: ch 1, hdc in 3rd loop of same stitch, hdc in 3rd loop around, sl st to beginning hdc

Rows 4-7: ch 1, hdc in each stitch around, sl st to beginning hdc

Row 8: ch 1, hdc in 3rd loop of same stitch, hdc in 3rd loop around, sl st to beginning hdc

Row 9: ch1, hdfp around 1s hdc from previous round, *hdbp, hdfp* repeat from * around, sl st to beginning hdfp

Cut yarn, pull through sl st and weave in ends

Sew on star or moon charms as desired

I love how these turned out and I wanted to share this idea with my hookers! Fine art can inspire us in many ways and these are just so adorable! Art and coffee…what goes better together!?

Grab a skein and make some of these girls up! I got 10 sweaters out of 1 skein.

Let art inspire your work and …

Happy Hooking, Hookers!

I love this! Can you tell me how big of a cup will this fit?

These fit 12 oz and 16 oz cups nicely! The larger cups, I would buy one and increase the beginning chain a few stitches to make sure it goes around the middle of the cup, then continue with the pattern 🙂 Easily customized if you want it taller as well! Just add a few more rows of hdc! Have fun with it!!!!
