Free Fall Football Coffee Sweater Pattern

We love fall, we love the leaves, we love our coffee drinks and yes, a lot of us love our football! I’m not one of them, but I live with a few. I also have a lot of friends who like to tailgate and go to games. What better gift for friends like this than a football coffee sweater!

This pattern can easily be made with team colors as well to customize it even more! Girlfriends who love football? Make a tiny flower in their team colors and sew it onto this for a feminine, personal touch! However you customize it, here is the free pattern:

Materials:

1 Size I ( 5.50 mm) Crochet Hook

1 Skein Yarn Bee Soft Secret yarn in ‘Cocoa’

1 Skein Yarn Bee Soft Secret yarn in ‘Ivory’

1 Yarn Needle for sewing

Stitch Abbreviations:

ch – chain

sl st – Slip Stitch

hdc – half double crochet

fphdc – front post half double crochet

bphdc – back post half double crochet

3rd loop – work stitch in the 3rd loop of the stitch only

Directions:

Ch 27, join with sl st to form loop

Row 1: hdc in same stitch you joined and in each stitch around, sl st to first hdc (27 stitches)

Row 2: ch 1, *fphdc, bphdc* repeat from * in each stitch around, switch to ivory yarn and sl st to first fphdc (27 stitches)

Row 3: ch 1, hdc in 3rd loop in each stitch around, switch back to cocoa yarn and sl st to first hdc (27 stitches)

Row 4-8: ch 1, hdc in in each stitch around, after last stitch on row 8, switch to ivory yarn and sl st to first hdc (27 stitches)

Row 9: ch 1, hdc in each stitch around, switch to cocoa yarn and sl st to first hdc (27 stitches)

Row 10: ch 1, hdc in each stitch around, sl st to first hdc (27 stitches)

Row 11: ch 1, hdc in 3rd loop in each stitch around, sl st to first hdc (27 stitches)

Row 12: ch 1, *fphdc, bphdc* repeat from * in each stitch around, sl st to first fphdc, cut yarn and tie off

Thread ivory yarn through your stitches to create the lacing on a football, tie off and trim yarn.
