So I recently ordered some amazing yarns from Lion Brand Yarn directly, things I hadn’t seen in the stores and I found this gorgeous stuff!!!! I ordered some and this past weekend, decided to see what 1 skein would make. And here she is!
This hat is made using Lion Brand Stitchbird Yarn, the color shown is ‘Hummingbird’. I love the caged yarn and the black threads … it gives the work so much character. The yarn is soft and easy to work with as well. The yarn is a weight 5 bulky and suggest hook is a K (6.5mm) and that’s exactly what I used on this cutie.
So I promised you a free pattern! Please remember my disclaimer: I do not use a gauge and I crochet very tight stitches. If you crochet loose stitches, try downsizing to a J hook. Here it is:
Materials Needed:
1 Skein Lion Brand Stitchbird Yarn (‘Hummingbird’ shown)
1 Size K (6.5 mm) Crochet Hook

1 Pom Pom Maker (Optional)

Row 18: Repeat row 17 (48 st)
Row 19: Repeat row 17 (48 st)
cut yarn, pull through sl st and sew in end
Turn hat inside out and pull beginning thread tight and tie/sew in end
Use the remaining yarn to make a pom pom using the pom maker or pick your favorite faux fur pom and attach to hat

This is a snug-fitting adult size beanie. That hdc row in the 3rd loop will give you that nice defining ridge between the body of the hat and your brim. Love the way these colors work up!!!!
Enjoy your new hat!
Happy Hooking, Hookers!!!
