This is a quick, gorgeous beauty I whipped up in a basic mood one night. I love the rich, thick wool and everything I seem to make with it is just beautiful. Of course I added one of those Luna Lovegood Poms from Rox Creations Co and … this hat is perfection!!!!

You know me, I wing it so often that even my patterns have ‘buts’ and ‘ifs’ … BUT I thought I would share this simple technique for anyone out there just beginning and wanting to make something simple and beautiful. So here is your inspiration for the day:

Pattern Notes: If the cuff seen above is not enough for you, make your beginning chain an extra few stitches. Remember: Patterns are not laws, they’re guidelines.

Use any weight 6 or 7 yarn that you love, and any pom pom you like, I just listed what I used for reference.

Materials

1 Skein Cascade Yarns Spuntaneous in ‘Cream’

1 Crochet Hook size P

1 Yarn Needle

1 Rox Creations Co Pom Pom in ‘Luna Lovegood

Instructions

Ch. 23

Row 1: sc in 2nd stitch from hook, sc in back bump of stitch across

Row 2: sc in BLO across, ch 1, turn

Repeat Row 2 until your work stretches and fits around your head as you desire., end with a row so that your yarn is at the opposite side of your beginning yarn tail.

Fold work in half, sl st in back loop of front side and front lop of back side to end

Cut yarn with long tail for sewing (12″-15″)

Using Yarn needle, weave tail in and out of stitches around the top of your work and cinch tight, tie a tight double knot with beginning tail, trim and turn had right side out.

Sew on Pom Pom (if desired), roll up bottom cuff and you’re all set!!!!

Color combinations are endless!!! Share with us in the comments your own versions of this pattern!!!!

Happy Hooking, Hookers!
